EVERY KID IN A PARK

The National Every Kid in a Park program enables fourth graders and their families could discover our wildlife, resources, and history at no cost by providing a pass to access all Federal public lands and waters.

Pinnacles National Park and the Pinnacles National Park Foundation target 4th-grade students through community outreach, teacher engagement, and classroom visits. Opportunities for single day park visits that incorporate a ranger classroom visit prior to their day of arrival and follow-up activities to continue their engagement in their park experience are offered on a limited basis as funding allows. Project funding provides outreach materials and project staffing for site visits, as well as bus transportation to the park for school groups, a major impediment for most low-income area schools.

Thanks to donors like you and a grant awarded by the National Park Foundation, 4th-grade classes can receive a grant to help pay for bus transportation to Pinnacles National Park. Funds are limited and distributed on a first come, first served basis to qualifying schools.

Teachers interested in giving their students the gift of an outdoor experience at Pinnacles National Park may contact the Interpretation Office to plan their trip. Reservations are required for all ranger-guided field trips, and space is limited. Please send inquiries to elizabeth_hudick@nps.gov. Leaders bringing 4th-grade classes are eligible to apply for bus transportation funding.

You help more kids experience the wonders of our National Park System with a visit to Pinnacles when you become a supporter of the Pinnacles National Park Foundation.
